WASHINGTON, USA - Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in New York this week to discuss issues of mutual interest.
During their first face-to-face meeting, the U.S. Secretary of State and Pakistan's Foreign Minister focused on strengthening bilateral trade and commercial ties and regional security.
"This is an important opportunity for us to discuss the many issues on which we are collaborating," Antony Blinken said before the meeting. "We want to focus on the work we're doing to strengthen economic and commercial ties between the United States and Pakistan," he added.
Blinken appeared before the media alongside Bilawal and vowed to work with the Pakistani government.
The FM is in New York to attend a United Nations-sponsored ministerial meeting on food security.
